Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
Eligible employees can take unpaid, job-protected leave for specified family and medical reasons through the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). If you have been employed by Eaton for at least 12 months and have worked a minimum of 1,250 hours within the last 12 months, the FMLA entitles you to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave each rolling 12-month period. See your Human Resources Department for information concerning the FMLA. To open an FMLA claim, contact Sedgwick at 1-866-869-6387 or online via MYSedgwick accessible through JOE. You may continue your benefits coverage for the duration of an FMLA leave.
For more information about the FMLA, visit the Employee Center on JOE or call Sedgwick at 1-866-869-6387.
Paid Holidays
It is the practice of Eaton to observe designated holidays by providing time off with pay for eligible employees. Employees observe the following core holidays each year: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
Please refer to your employee guidebook for additional details, including extra holidays observed at your location.
Paid Parental Leave*
In keeping with Eaton’s desire to help make employees’ priorities work and support work-life effectiveness, the purpose of Eaton’s Paid Parental Leave Policy* is to provide employees with paid time off to be with and care for their new child after birth or adoption.
The birth parent (person who gives birth) is eligible for six weeks of paid parental leave, in addition to six to eight weeks of Short-Term Disability coverage for childbirth. The Paid Parental Leave follows the completion of short-term disability and may not substitute for or be taken in place of short-term disability.
Non-birthing parents are also eligible for six weeks of paid parental leave effective for all births and adoptions that occur on or after September 1, 2023.
Please see the Paid Parental Leave policy on JOE > Employee Center for details.

Purchased Vacation Program*
The Purchased Vacation Program allows you to purchase vacation days in addition to your regular allocation of vacation benefits. During the annual enrollment period and within NetBenefits, you may elect to purchase one work week of additional vacation time to be used during the following year. You are eligible to participate in the Purchased Vacation Program if you work at least 20 hours per week. New hires are not eligible for this benefit in the first year. Visit the Employee Center for more information. You must elect this benefit during Annual Enrollment — last year’s election will not carry over.
*If you are represented by a recognized collective bargaining agent, you are eligible for Purchased Vacation Program only if stated in the collective bargaining agreement.
Vacation
Eaton provides competitive vacation benefits to eligible employees based upon length of service with the Company. Employees are expected to use their vacation time each year during the 12-month calendar year in which the vacation was earned, subject to local or country regulatory requirements. Vacation not used within the calendar year will be forfeited, and payment will not be made in lieu of unused vacation at the end of the calendar year, subject to local or country regulations.
Please refer to your employee guidebook for the vacation schedule and additional details.
