Health and Insurance Plans

From day one of your employment, you will be eligible for the following benefits.

  • Medical: Eaton offers three medical plan options: Basic Medical, Enhanced Medical and MyChoice Medical. You can choose the plan that is best for you and your family’s needs.

  • Pharmacy: When you enroll for medical coverage, you automatically receive prescription drug coverage, managed through OptumRx. Prescription drug benefits are determined by which medical plan option you enroll in and the type of medication you require.   • Dental & Vision: Eaton provides Dental and Vision coverage, which are available to both you and your covered dependents.

  • Health Savings Account & Reimbursement Accounts: You have the option to enroll in a Health Savings Account (HSA) and/or up to four Reimbursement Accounts, depending on which health care plan you are enrolled in.   

  • Insurance:

    • Employee Life Insurance: The company provides basic life insurance coverage in the amount of 1 time your annual base pay, with a minimum coverage amount of $25,000.

    • AD&D Insurance: Eaton provides AD&D Insurance coverage in the amount of 1 time your annual base pay. This coverage is provided at no cost to you.

    • Short-Term Disability (STD) Insurance: This coverage is provided by Eaton, at no cost to you. You do not have to enroll. Benefits generally cover 26 weeks of disability.

    • Long-Term Disability (LTD) Insurance: LTD benefits continue a portion of your monthly base pay if you are unable to work because of a long-term illness or injury. Eaton provides a basic level of benefit at no cost to you. You have the option to elect a higher level of coverage for additional cost. 

In addition to the basic levels provided by Eaton, you can purchase additional protection through the Eaton benefits program.

Note: If you are represented by a recognized collective bargaining agent, you are eligible for certain benefits only if stated in the collective bargaining agreement.

401(k) Plan

Eaton’s 401(k)* plan is a significant part of the Eaton benefits package. Through the 401(k) plan, you can have Eaton deduct a percentage of your pay (either before or after income taxes are calculated) and invest that money in any combination of investment options that you select from among those available. The table below highlights some of the 401(k) plan features.

  • Immediate participation: Eligible employees can begin participating in the 401(k) immediately.

  • Benefit growth potential: Your benefit has potential to grow through your contributions, company contributions (if applicable), and through any investment earnings on those contributions. 

  • Your contributions: You can contribute a portion of your eligible compensation as before-tax or after-tax contributions. 

  • Company contributions: For certain eligible participants, Eaton provides a company match based on your contribution to the plan. 

  • Vesting: You are immediately 100% vested in your contributions and all eligible company matching contributions, as well as any related earnings.

  • Investment options: You can select a mix of investment options that best suits your goals, time horizon, and risk tolerance. The many investment options available through the Plan include conservative, moderately conservative, and aggressive funds.

    • Flexible Work Solutions (FWS)
      Eaton is committed to the wellbeing of its employees and recognizes its diverse workforce has diverse needs. To help employees achieve work-life synergy, and bring their best selves to work, we believe flexible workdays, hours, and/or locations may be an option for some employees. Examples of available U.S. flex work arrangements include Flextime, Compressed Work Week, Telework, Remote Work, Part-Time, and Job Share.

    • Tuition Reimbursement
      Eaton's Educational Assistance Program is designed to support ongoing employee learning and development by providing up to an annual benefit of $5,250 for undergraduate and graduate coursework.

    • Eaton Scholarship Program
      High school students who are children, natural or legally adopted, or dependent stepchildren of a regular full-time employee of Eaton Corporation, or its subsidiaries, can compete for a scholarship. Each Eaton Scholarship is $2,000 per year, renewable for up to four years of full-time study or until completion of a bachelor’s degree, whichever occurs earlier.

    • Employee Referral Program (ERP)
      Here at Eaton, we believe connections matter. Eaton offers an employee referral program so our employees can be talent ambassadors.
